Jules achieves “Master Craftsman” title

This last year, as many of my clients will be aware, I have been working on a collection of images to present to The Guild Of Photographers for assessment for my Craftsman Qualification.

I am absolutely thrilled to announce that finally last week my completed panel of images were judged by the Guilds team of International judges and I was actually awarded the “Master Craftsman” Qualification. This award means so much to me for many reasons but possibly the most important reason is that I know I am giving a truly Professional Quality Service and Product to my clients and Master Craftsman is a title I intend to live up to for the rest of my photographic career.

Throughout my photographic Journey I have participated In many training days with various Photographers in particular Damien Lovegrove who I found extremely helpful and inspiring and I have always come away with new techniques that I have been able to apply to my own work. I think its very important to develop your own style and take inspiration from others to improve your own work and training is invaluable.

Learning to see images as a collection that represents your personal style is not always easy and my Guild Mentor Julie Oswin, a wonderfully talented acclaimed photographer, has played a huge role in helping me put these images together, and I am truly indebted to her for guiding me and encouraging me. She is a wonderful person and a fantastic trainer within the business of photography.

I would like to thank all of my clients, even if your imagesare not in this panel, you have all had an input and been extremely inspirational to me.

Newborn Image of the Year Winner 2015 !

Jules at Little Creases Leicester Newborn Photographer wins 12 Awards at The Guilds awards evening!!

Last weekend was the long awaited Guild of Photographers Awards Evening for 2015….As you may have been aware 10 of my images had been nominated in 3 out of the 4 categories…I was absolutely thrilled to discover that I had won Image of The Year in all 3 categories which included Winner & Runner up in the Pet Category! To say I was over the moon would be an understatement…so to then be awarded joint-runner-up in the overall Image of the year was just fantastic.. My night could not get any better..so I thought, but to then find out that I was 2nd in the Photographer of The Year Awards for the Family People and Portraiture section was just incredible, also 3rd in the Newborn section and 12th in the Open section …I came away from the awards night with a total of 12 awards!! Its just so encouraging to have my work acknowledged by such a prestigious group The Guild of Photographers members include some of the best photographers in the country..It is a wonderful place to learn my craft and continue to grow.. I hope it also gives you confidence that I am dedicated to producing beautiful images for you and your family and that you are safe in the knowledge that I will always give you my best!

I may be celebrating for a very long time!

Jules is awarded Photographers Bar in 3 Categories with The Guild

Local photographer achieves national acclaim!

Local photographer Julie Moult has been granted membership of the ‘Photographers Bar’ and was the only person in the UK to do so in 3 different photographic areas.

Membership of the ‘Photographers Bar’ is a unique distinction awarded to those photographers who have successfully had images assessed by the Guild of Photographers over the course of a year and have attained a score that evidences an exceptional level of professional skill and consistency throughout that a full year.

The Guild of Photographers is a highly respected association for all photographers and it’s competition attracts up to 1000 images for judging by an an expert Panel of Judges each month. Points are given to entries and these are then totaled at the end of the year. Those who reach the required threshold are then awarded membership of the ‘Photographers Bar’.

That membership of the ‘Photographers Bar’ is a distinction that is very difficult to achieve – in fact less than 100 photographers have achieved it in the 3 years since its inception, during which time over 30,000 images will have been entered for assessment by photographers across the UK and from overseas.

Guild Director Lesley Thirsk said “I am delighted for Julie as this is a great achievement! Submitting and having images assessed every month for a year and reaching the required standards to become a member of the Photographers Bar is very very demanding. It illustrates her commitment, skill and consistency. She should be very proud of what she has achieved!”

On hearing the news Julie who runs Little Creases leicester Newborn Photography & Jules Photography said …. I am absolutely thrilled to receive these awards…I am always working to improve my skills and produce beautiful images for my clients. Becoming a member of The Guild has enabled me to enter images each month for assessment which provides me with the right environment to grow and keep on track of my progress.

10 images Nominated for National Awards with the Guild Of Photographers

The New Year brought with it 4 Magical emails from the Guild of Photographers I cannot express how honoured I am to have my images nominated for the National Annual Awards again this year and to be considered one amongst some of THE best photographers in the Country!

Leicester Newborn, Baby, Family & Pet Photographer Jules of Jules Photography & Little Creases achieves National Acclaim!
Jules, a photographer based in Kirkby Mallory, Nr Hinckley Leicester has reached the Final of the fiercely contested Guild of Photographers Image of the Year Competition.   The Guild is a highly respected UK based association for photographers which has members from overseas as well. Each year it runs an on-line monthly photographic competition with awards being given each month to the very best of the entries.

During the course of 2015, the competition attracted nearly 10,000 entries in 4 categories, and this week the Guild’s Judges have selected just 10 images in the various genres from the very best of the monthly entries, to go forward to the annual Final. Jules‘s has had 10 images Nominated within the 4 Categories of Pet Portraits, Babies & Toddler, Newborn and Maternity   & children.

Guild Director Lesley Thirsk said “One of the Guild’s aims is to drive standards and creativity amongst photographers. Our monthly competition certainly does that, for the standard of the entries we see each month is quite staggering. To have an image recognised by the Guild in the monthly competition is difficult enough, so to have an image selected as being one of the best 10 in a category for the end of year Final is a quite remarkable achievement, and shows just how talented a photographer Jules is.

”  Jules said “I live for my photography and put a lot of effort into developing my skills. One way I do that is to enter the Guild’s competition. It drives forward photography standards month after month so it helps me push myself. The images I see getting awards each month are inspirational, so knowing just how high those standards are, to have my images selected within the 10 to go through to the Final from the whole year’s entries is really really exciting. I couldn’t believe it when I found out.”

Beautiful Baby Willow

So many blog posts to do to catch up this month!

Its been a crazy two months here at Little Creases, Leicester Newborn & Baby Photography Studio …I have met so many beautiful new babies and I have finally caught up with editing and viewings I am making a start with this gorgeous family.

Vicky is a busy mum and full time commercial model but we managed to fit Willow in for her Newborn session and although Layton her Big Brother wasn’t feeling well..we grabbed a little snap of them together…bless him he spent most of the session flat out on the sofa.

Willow was oblivious to it all and slept the majority of the time!

Baby Esmae Newborn Session

This beautiful little Newborn baby girl came to see me at 13 days new! She slept pretty much through her whole session and was a dream to photograph.

I have known baby Esmae’s Aunty Sophie since my own daughter was at primary school where they were best friends and have remained so for over 20 years! So this was a very special session for me indeed.

As a Newborn Photographer being chosen to photograph your tiny baby is such an honour, these days are here once in a lifetime and I promise I will do everything I can to capture it all for you and present images that you will want to hang on your walls for many many years. I hope you enjoy a few more from Esmaes session.

If this last picture is anything to go on…I think Esmae will have her Daddy wrapped around her little finger from now on!!!
